Bottle Biome Ecosystem

Tiny Tim’s water level hasn’t changed and is still at 6.5 centimeters. He still doesn’t have algae but he has plant growth. The grass has grown more than the bottle will allow height wise. There is condensation on the top and bottom of the bottle biome which indicates cooling temperatures. His grass is still growing and bending sideways still. His water is changing into a more ivory color and also there will not be enough room for any further plant growth due to how small the bottle is in general.

The grass has continued to grow but I’m unable to measure it because it is growing kind of sideways and is bending at the top. The water level has gone down and is at 6.5 cm. It is less clear than last week. There is condensation at the top of the bottle.

The grass has started to bend at the top. The water is still the same as last weeks, it’s a little foggy. There is also still some dirt and gravel floating at the top of the water. The top section of the bottle still has condensation but there will not be enough room for any further plant growth.

Tiny Tim’s water level changed to 7 cm. There isn’t any algae growth in the bottle biome. The plants on the top grew to 14 cm. The water in the bottom isn’t as clear as last weeks but you are still able to see through the bottle. There is a ton of condensation on the top of the bottle.

The water level is at 3.1 inches. There isn’t any algae or plants at the bottle growing. There may be some roots growing in the dirt but we’re not sure. The water is still clear, there’s some gravel floating at the topic. There is some condensation at the top of the bottle.

Today we set up our bottle biome. We first took a top of a bottle and a bottle of a bottle and added gravel to the bottom. We then added a string through a hole in the cap to use capillary action to get water into the dirt into the top of the bottle. We added some seeds to make grass. We then added a top and taped it all together with packing tape. We will be monitoring it over the next several weeks to watch the cycles happen over time. I hope we’re able to grow a plant and not grow slimy mold and bugs.
